Warren County Veterans’ Services Transportation Program
EFFECTIVE January 1, 2026
Listed below are procedures and tips to make your trip as enjoyable and timely as possible.
- We transport Veterans to/from the VAMC in Albany, NY Monday-Wednesday-Friday except for federal holidays.
These trips MUST be pre-scheduled, please call ahead to reserve a seat.
Walk-on service is allowed BUT the only pick-up location for walk-on service is at our office and is not a guarantee of daily transportation service. The ONLY guarantee is to pre-schedule your ride.
- If it is your first time riding our transportation we request a discharge paper be on file with our office. (DD Form 214, WD AGO 53-55 or an equivalent discharge).
- There are two pickup locations. Please be at your pre-scheduled location by 8am:
- In front of the Human Services Building (across the parking lot from Warren County DMV).
- VFW Post 6196 at 32 Luzerne Rd Queensbury (corner of Richardson St and Luzerne Rd).
- We accept transportation requests up to a year in advance. As soon as you know about an appointment please call us at 518-761-6342 with the following information:

We can accommodate your appointments at the VAMC between 9:30am – 2pm. Appointments past 2pm must be pre-approved by the Warren County Veterans Director.
- You must be able to get on and off the van without assistance.
- A passenger/caregiver may accompany you provided there is room on the van. All passengers MUST be over the age of 18 years old to ride!!!
- Please be courteous to other veterans and notify us of any cancellations ASAP.
- Once you are finished with your appointment, check-in with the driver. It is best if you bring a cell phone with you so you can be in contact with the driver if need be.
- Van leaves when the last appointment is finished. Every attempt is made to depart no later than 3pm. Please assist the driver and watch out for each other.
- If you know your next appointment the driver can write it down on the passenger sheet. If you don’t know your next appointment please call the office at 518-761-6342. DO NOT contact the driver directly to schedule appointments.
- Transportation cancellations (i.e. weather) will be announced on WCKM 98.5 FM (as early as 6:30am) and posted on the Warren County Veterans’ Services Facebook page.
