Effective October 3rd 2016 the 2015 International Codes with New York suppliments will take effect
Building Codes does not have enforcement responsibilities in the Town of Queensbury or the City of Glens Falls. You can find information for Queensbury at the Queensbury Building and Codes department and for Glens Falls at the Glens Falls Building and Codes department.
If you do not live in Queensbury or Glens Falls, and would like to apply for a building permit, you must follow these steps:
- Read the requirements of applying for a building permit, and fill out any necessary forms.
- If you have any questions about the requirements or any part of the application process, please E-Mail Building Codes or call them at (518)761-6542 before you come in.

When applying for a building permit you should submit a completed application packet & plans for construction as soon as possible to allow time for a complete plan review to be completed.

Plan reviews are done in the order in which applications are received. The time frame for a plan review to be completed and a permit issued is at a minimum of 2 weeks.
