When a co-worker had car problems recently, it wasn't out of the ordinary to see Liz Burke, Supervising Fraud Investigator for Warren County Department of Social Services, in the parking lot helping out.

"I wasn’t surprised to see Liz out in the parking lot helping a co-worker with a car issue. She is often recognizing her team and doing things without question to help someone out,"  explained Social Services Commissioner Christina Mastrianni.

Helping a friend get back on the road was just one of many attributes that led to Burke being named Warren County's employee of the quarter for the third quarter of 2025.

Burke has worked for DSS for 26 years, and was praised by Mastrianni for her work ethic, reliability, enthusiasm and dedication. She was honored at the August 15, 2025 Board of Supervisors meeting

Mastrianni noted that Burke has exemplified what it means to be a true team player. Her ability to collaborate seamlessly with colleagues and other county departments, and foster a supportive environment for her teams, has not only strengthened the DSS team but has also inspired others to reach their full potential.

One of Burke’s standout qualities is her expertise in research and problem solving, Mastrianni explained.

"She has an extraordinary knack for finding answers, no matter how complex the challenge may be. When discussing challenging topics, she shares both the positive and the negatives leading to constructive outcomes," she said.

"Liz, your hard work, dedication, and positive attitude do not go unnoticed. You are an example of what it means to be a leader and at team player. Thank you for everything you do. We are proud to have you on our team," Mastrianni added.
