Warren County Clerk Carrie Black is warning residents of a recent increase in scam text messages being sent that falsely claim recipients owe Department of Motor Vehicles fines or fees. Numerous Warren County residents have received these texts in recent days and contacted DMV staff to question their legitimacy. (Attached is a photo of one of these scam texts)

𖥔 Respond to unsolicited text messages or emails, click on links, download files, or open attachments from an unverified source.
𖥔 Give personal information over the phone or through text or email and or enter personal information in a pop-up screen.
