Wednesday night is one of the busiest nights of the year for local bars and restaurants, a night of revelry for many. Local police will be working to make sure everyone gets home safely by participating in a "high-visibility enforcement campaign" through Thanksgiving weekend targeting those who make the mistake of driving impaired.
This effort, part of a statewide campaign that will include extra police patrols across New York, will run from Wednesday night through Sunday night. NY State Police will supplement regular patrols statewide through efforts including fixed sobriety checkpoints and utilizing Concealed Identity Traffic Enforcement (CITE) patrol vehicles.
