Warren County to host reading of Declaration of Independence on July 4

Start your America’s 250th birthday celebration on July 4th with a reading of the Declaration of Independence by Revolutionary War hero Joseph Warren at Warren County Municipal Center!

Warren County will host a short ceremony the morning of Independence Day, during which Joseph Warren, played by Queensbury Supervisor John Strough in 18th century period attire, will deliver a rendition of the document that played an integral part in the quest for a free nation.

The event, to be held on the front steps of Warren County Municipal Center, is being jointly organized with Warren County Historical Society and will also include remarks by local dignitaries and is expected to last about 30 minutes.

Warren County was named for Joseph Warren, who was a major general in the colony's militia shortly before the June 17, 1775 Battle of Bunker Hill, where he was killed in combat.

Where: Warren County Municipal Center, 1340 US Route 9, Queensbury.
