Students honored for anti-tobacco and vaping educational efforts

The winners of Warren County Public Health's annual "Tar Wars" poster contest were honored Friday, June 20 by the Warren County Board of Supervisors! It was great to see the smiling faces of our local students who put together outstanding artwork touting anti-tobacco and anti-vaping messages. This annual contest involving schools around Warren County drew dozens of entries again this year.

Olivia Barrows of Glens Falls Middle School was the overall winner based on voting by county employees, while Zoey Arias of Glens Falls Middle School was second and Bryce Mance of North Warren Central School was third. They won prizes donated by The Great Escape, Adirondack Extreme, Sky Zone and Stewart's Shops! (Warren County Public Health's Katie Boyle, who oversaw the program, is to the left of the honorees.)

Thank you to all of our finalists, who were invited to the Board of Supervisors meeting, for their outstanding artwork and for helping spread the message about the dangers of tobacco and nicotine.
