Warren County is soliciting participants for septic system repair/replacement funding available for low- to moderate-income homeowners.
Warren County Department of Planning and Community Development is overseeing the program, which is open to homeowners throughout the county.
Past rounds of funding were for residents living in specified watersheds, but the new program via the NY State Community Development Block Grant program uses income-based criteria to determine who is eligible no matter where they live in the county.
Homeowners who are eligible can get problematic septic systems repaired or replaced, with payment directly to contractors and engineers who perform the work.
Income limits to qualify are based on the number of household members. For instance, a family of four that has less than $80,000 in annual income would qualify for funding.
The amount of assistance available per project is dependent on repair/replacement and design costs. This program is only for single-gamily homes.
The program is being funded through a $400,000 Community Development Block Grant award.
Funding for this program expires in January 2027. For more information, contact Gina Martin at Warren County Planning, [email protected] or 518-761-6409, or log on to www.warrencountyny.gov/planning.
