Board of Supervisors votes to create Finance Department

Board of Supervisors meeting September 18 2026

The Warren County Board of Supervisors voted Friday, September 18 to create a Department of Finance to improve financial oversight of taxpayer funds. The vote came after the board held a public hearing for nearly 90 minutes during its regular meeting for September. More than two dozen individuals commented on the initiative, many of them expressing opposition.

After the public hearing, the Board of Supervisors held a lengthy executive session with the County Attorney, with a vote by supervisors occurring on the resolution  afterward. Seventeen of 18 supervisors who were present voted for the local law. Queensbury Supervisor at-Large Doug Beaty was the only supervisor to vote against the Local Law.
