WARREN COUNTY, NY – The Warren County Board of Supervisors voted Friday, February 16, 2024 to make appointments to the Warren County Ethics Board for 2024-25.
The Board of Supervisors chose five members and two alternates, acting on the recommendations of a search panel that included county supervisors and Warren County Administrator John Taflan. The panel vetted applications from 25 applicants during process that began in January because the prior Ethic Board’s two-year term of service expired at the end of 2023.
Serving two-year terms on the Warren County Board of Ethics are:
- The Hon. G. Thomas Moynihan, Jr., retired NYS Supreme Court Justice.
- Ann Marie Scheidegger, Vice President for Administrative Services and Treasurer, SUNY Adirondack
- James C. Hicks, MD, Lead Physician for Hudson Headwaters Health Network.
- Kim M. Diaz, M. Ed, educator and published author
- Loretta LeBar, Esq., former Deputy State Attorney General, Delaware
- Gary Fishlock, former credit union COO (alternate)
- Paula Hayes, banking professional (alternate)
Kevin Geraghty, Warrensburg Town Supervisor and Chairman of the Warren County Board of Supervisors, said: “I would like to thank everyone who applied to be part of the Board of Ethics. I consider serving on this board one of the most important jobs in government. We hold our staff and elected officials to high standards in Warren County, and we strive to conduct business in an above board manner at all times. Having a strong Board of Ethics is necessary to ensure there are the necessary checks and balances, and we are confident the members of this board will be up to the task of making certain that your county government acts honestly and ethically.”
The Warren County Board of Ethics meets periodically to review complaints that are referred to the Board by the Warren County Attorney, and the Board of Ethics renders advisory opinions according to the Warren County Ethics and Disclosure Law.
The Board of Ethics also makes recommendations in regard to the Code of Ethics for elected and non-elected employees of Warren County government.
Members of the Board of Ethics are not financially compensated and are required to meet at least twice a year at Warren County Municipal Center.
